North Dakota has already seen over 70 tornadoes this year.
“They’re on a record pace for tornadoes,” meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley said.
Fortunately, those tornadoes, have not carried over into western Minnesota, but Pipestone and Rock County near the border did report winds of up to 70 miles per hour. Pipestone lost power on Sunday, as well.
For Minnesota, high humidity and temperature whiplash at the start of the month have been the biggest headlines. Despite a cold start to the month, there were 55 reports of daily highs near 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
