Nearly all areas of the state have seen at least one spell of frost for the month of October.
“Pretty much the end of the growing season for most of Minnesota gardeners,” said meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley.
Along with the cold weather came the rain. Since Oct. 17, cities along the Canadian border — like Baudette, Little Fork and International Falls — had over two inches of rain. Additionally, several climate observers noticed one-tenth of an inch of snow on Thursday.
However, drought did expand slightly in central to northern central parts of the state.
