Throughout this Election Day, Minnesotans took to the polls to cast their ballot on a number of issues.
Many are keeping their eyes on mayoral across the Twin Cities. In St. Paul, MPR News correspondent Regina Medina spoke with voters deciding on ballot measures on funding public schools and talking about their hopes for the state’s capital.
In the state’s largest city, MPR News senior reporter Sarah Thamer spoke with Minneapolis residents who said choosing a new mayor was top of mind.
In Anoka-Hennepin School District, Minnesota's largest school district, donations from unions, individuals and national political groups have totaled nearly half a million dollars for school board candidates — that far outpaces normal spending for a down-ballot election.
MPR News host Clay Masters and producer Ngoc Bui went out to talk to voters in the district to see how they're feeling about the attention these races are getting.
