The first four days of December started off colder than normal, running anywhere from 10 to 16 degrees Fahrenheit colder than usual.
“It certainly looks like that trend is going to continue for quite a while into the future,” said climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley.
Some of that extra cold is coming from the extra snowpack. Snowfall is expected throughout the state through Thursday. That snowfall can modify overnight minimum temperatures by five to 10 degrees.
