Prediction models from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration suggested February would be colder than usual — turns out that’s not the case. 

“I think with climate change, some of the forecasting tools that are used for the outlook models perhaps should be rigorously revisited a little bit,” climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley said. 

This latest month of February will mark the 14th warmest February in state history as far back as 1895. If looking at the Twin Cities numbers alone, it would be the 12th warmest.
