March 2026 marked the 12th year out of the last 14 that brought warmer-than-average temperatures to the state.
“So we've really been in a strong warming trend,” said climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley.
March is really a roller coaster when it comes to temperature readings. For example, on March 1, Seagull Lake in northern Minnesota reached 31 degrees below zero, whereas Pipestone in southwestern Minnesota reached 85 degrees on March 21.
