After significant wildfires in northeastern Minnesota caused by exceptionally dry conditions, some much needed rains arrive.
According to meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley, rain is expected Friday night and Saturday morning, but then things will clear up for the holiday weekend.
“Then the rest of the Memorial weekend should be fine, as far as having some sun and some comfortable temperatures to be outside,” he said.
Rain earlier in the week was welcomed by farmers around the state as nearly all corn and soybean crops are planted and ready for moisture. As far as the rest of the month goes, Seeley said weather models are predicting warmer-than-normal temperatures for the rest of May.
