The end of June saw the beginning of a heat wave with Monday bringing the warmest day of summer so far.
Afternoon Heat Index Values ranged from 100 to 112 degrees Fahrenheit at the most in some areas. That high index was driven by record high dew points.
“In my 48 years of monitoring the weather and reporting on it in Minnesota, I don't think I've ever seen a June day like June 29 of this year,” climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley said.
