Storms leave thousands without power across Minnesota
Severe storms spawned tornadoes and knocked out power to tens of thousands of homes and business across Minnesota on Friday.
Friday afternoon and Friday evening will feature some strong to severe thunderstorms in parts of Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The storms linger into the overnight hours, but the daylight hours of Saturday are looking pretty good. We have your weekend forecast details.
Widespread severe weather expected Friday
Minnesota sees very active weather Friday with widespread showers and storms across the state, including areas of severe weather and heavy rain. Much quieter weather returns over the weekend.
A strong cold front brings a severe weather and heavy rain risk through Friday followed by noticeably cooler weather.
Most of Thursday will be warm, humid and dry, but the evening turns active as severe weather starts making its way across northern Minnesota.
