Sat. night rain heaviest in far southern Minn.; shower/t-storm chance on Sunday
Far southern Minnesota could see some strong thunderstorms and heavy rain Saturday evening and overnight. We have details on the flood watch in that area, plus shower and thunderstorm chances elsewhere this weekend.
Periods of rain and thunderstorms Saturday, Saturday night
The highest weekend rainfall totals, 1 to 2 inches, are expected from the southern half of Minnesota eastward into Wisconsin. Localized higher amounts are possible. Northwestern Minnesota will see very little rain this weekend.
Hot Friday; heavy rain potential this weekend
Nineties return to southern Minnesota Friday with gusty south winds. Showers and thunderstorms develop for the weekend with the potential for locally heavy rain. Cooler temperatures set in Sunday into Monday.
Hotter and more humid Friday; weekend rain, thunder
Hot and more humid air returns Friday. Scattered storms will develop in northern Minnesota Friday afternoon. The chance of rain and thunder increases south as well into Saturday and Sunday.
Weekend weather: Periods of showers, thunderstorms; warmest temps Saturday
Parts of central and southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin could see 1 inch or more of weekend rain. The northern third of Minnesota is expected to see the lowest rainfall totals.
Comfortable Thursday; heating back up Friday; storm chances ahead
A nearly perfect Thursday with normal temperatures and low dew points. Heat and humidity return Friday setting the stage for possible weekend rain and thunder.
