Minnesota man faces deportation to Laos for a crime he committed more than 30 years ago
At “Ricky” Chandee pled guilty to assault when he was 18 and served a prison sentence in the early 1990s. Since his release, he has worked for the city of Minneapolis for nearly 30 years. His family says he is not a threat to public safety, despite the Trump administration’s portrayal of him.

Charges were filed Tuesday against a St. Cloud man for allegedly fatally stabbing his wife, the daughter of a candidate for Minnesota governor. Dylan Tobler faces one count of second-degree murder in connection with the death of Hallie Tobler.
A 22-year-old woman found fatally stabbed in St. Cloud on Saturday was the daughter of a candidate for Minnesota governor. The Republican Party of Minnesota said Jeff Johnson has suspended his campaign. Police said the victim’s husband is suspected of causing her death.
Minnesota reaches settlement with federal government over education funding
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison says his office has reached a settlement with the Trump administration to ensure the state receives hundreds of millions of dollars in federal education funding. That’s after the federal government last year threatened to withhold the funding.
