Dakota County turning to AI to answer non-emergency calls

When someone calls the non-emergency line in Dakota County, instead of a dispatcher answering, an AI assistant does. The switch to AI technology was made so dispatchers can focus their attention on emergency calls. Dakota 911 is one of the first in the state to implement this type of AI tool.

MDH recommends hepatitis B vaccine at birth, despite change in federal guidance

On Friday, a federal vaccine advisory committee voted to end the longstanding recommendation that all U.S. babies get the hepatitis B vaccine on the day they’re born. The Minnesota Department of Health said it will continue to recommend the vaccine.
