High temperatures Thursday will be well into the 60s for most of Minnesota, several degrees warmer than Wednesday. A weak disturbance could touch off a few sprinkles in northern Minnesota. Low 70s should spread into much of southern and western Minnesota Friday.
Hurricane Ian has left a path of destruction in southwest Florida, trapping people in flooded homes, cutting off a barrier island with thousands of residents and destroying a historic pier.
Barely an hour after the massive storm trudged ashore, a coastal sheriff’s office reported that it was already getting a significant number of calls from people trapped in homes. The hurricane’s center struck near Cayo Costa, a protected barrier island just west of heavily populated Fort Myers.
