Large hail fell in parts of the Twin Cities metro area around 4:30 a.m. Thursday. Now it will get steamy, with a heat advisory starting at noon.
There is a slight risk for severe weather in both northern and southern Minnesota. The latest outlook form NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center puts the Twin Cities in the marginal risk zone between areas of slight risk to the north and south.

Our steamy tropical summer air mass continues to deliver torrential tropical downpours. Tuesday’s fare included another shot of flooding rain. Over 2 inches of rain fell in less than an hour Tuesday afternoon. Street flooding in Minneapolis lit up twitter.
