Weekend weather: Chilly Saturday, snow chances up north; warmup Sunday
We’ll start our weekend with cold and wind chills, but temperatures recover nicely on Sunday. The best weekend snow chances will be in northern Minnesota. We have your weekend forecast, plus the updated Minnesota snow cover map.
Last bitter cold night of winter? First 60 possible next week
Wind chills will be frigid through the day Friday as high temperatures won’t get past the low to mid teens in southern Minnesota and barely reach zero in some places up north. Temps drop to subzero statewide overnight into Saturday. A rapid warm up starts Sunday.
Coldest night of March Friday night; big warm up starts Sunday
It’s another chilly morning early Friday, but the return of the wind is what’s making it really feel cooler. Winds are near 20 mph for much of Minnesota, creating wind chills that are subzero nearly statewide. In fact, northwest Minnesota has wind chills near 30 below zero.
Weekend weather: Cool Saturday, snow chances up north; warm Sunday
Our Saturday will feel more like January than March. Temperatures will really ramp up on Sunday. We have the forecast details, including snow chances Saturday evening in northern Minnesota.
Cold grips Minnesota through Saturday; big warmup starts Sunday
It will be a little warmer Thursday following Wednesday’s cold blast and a second, colder one moving in Thursday night. Expect highs in the mid to upper 20s in the south and teens north with sunshine most of the day. Temperatures will be colder Friday.
Subzero wind chills Thursday morning; much warmer Sunday
The northern half of Minnesota is below zero early Thursday while the southern half remains above zero, in the single digits. Most of the state has subzero wind chills, however, ranging from barely above zero in the south to near 30 below zero north. We’ll see more sunshine Thursday with temperatures actually a little warmer; in the mid to upper 20s south and teens north.
Bitter cold through Saturday; huge warmup starts Sunday
Highs Wednesday will range from the low 20s in the southeast to just single digits in the northwest. Expect subzero wind chills across the state Thursday and subzero temps overnight Friday into Saturday. Highs soar into the 40s Sunday, the start of a big warmup.
