Tuesday remains cooler than average but comfortable with sunshine and light winds. By Wednesday, rain returns along with a pattern shift that brings in much warmer weather.
Tuesday morning is starting off with most of the state below freezing and even areas of record cold. By the afternoon it will be sunny and comfortable.
Temperatures remain cool for the first part of the week, including another freeze potential Tuesday morning.  Then an extended stretch of warmer weather moves in.
Despite sunshine, temperatures across Minnesota Monday will stay well below average with highs only in the 40s and 50s.
Colder air will stay in place across the state for the first half of the week, including more freeze concerns for southern Minnesota.  Then chances for showers and milder weather return midweek.
A breezy and chilly Mother's Day; freeze warning late tonight and early Monday
