Jessie Diggins, an Afton native, and Kikkan Randall became the first Americans to win an Olympic gold medal in the sport on Wednesday by shocking powerhouses Norway and the Sweden in the women's team sprint. The U.S. had never won a medal of any kind in women's cross-country skiing prior to the race.
In the downhill at what's believed to be her final Olympics, Lindsey Vonn hit speeds of nearly 70 mph as she scorched down the mountain. "I gave it all today, skied a great race," she said.
