The weekend storm continues to affect southern Minnesota Tuesday with clouds and some lingering showers. A big warmup develops later this week into the weekend.
We will still have lingering clouds and some scattered lighter showers, especially across southern Minnesota Tuesday. Northern Minnesota will see more sun and slightly warmer temperatures.
Monday will bring more scattered showers and thunderstorms adding to impressive multi-day totals so far. We’ll have some lingering showers still Tuesday before we dry out and warm up.
Roads are still slick Monday morning after more than four inches of rain fell in Duluth over the weekend, forcing water up from sewers and leading to flooding across the city.
After soaking rains over the weekend, we’re not done yet. Look for scattered lingering showers, thunder Monday. Summer temperatures return by late in the week.
Creeks and streams, including the Kettle River, are running higher than usual. The city says there is also standing water on roadways and overflows of at least three sanitary sewers.
