Weekend weather: Southern Minnesota may see the heaviest snow
Light snow will spread from west to east across Minnesota Thursday afternoon and evening. A more significant batch of snow is expected Saturday night and Sunday, with the heaviest snow over southern Minnesota, but enough snow to shovel and plow in most the Twin Cities metro area.
An area of light snow moves across the state Thursday into Friday. Then a much more potent snowstorm targets southern Minnesota on Sunday.
Wednesday’s sunny skies are being replaced by increasing clouds and light snow moving across the state Thursday.
A lighter area of snow passes through Minnesota Thursday into Friday, followed by heavier snow for southern Minnesota on Sunday.
Wednesday brings more sunshine and slightly above-average temperatures before a couple rounds of snow target Minnesota.

We will see another cold start Wednesday followed by a pleasant afternoon. A couple rounds of snow target the state later this week and weekend.
More cold air moved into the state Tuesday. By Wednesday afternoon our temperatures return to average or above for all of Minnesota. Light snow will move in on Thursday.
