After a quiet day Friday, more showers and storms move in for the first half of the weekend.  Temperatures return closer to average after a hotter than normal July so far.
Friday brings sunny skies, warm weather and lower humidity.  However, more showers and storms start to move into western Minnesota by Friday night.

A potent storm system is exiting the state, but not without another potential round of severe weather Thursday. Meanwhile, recent rain has not been enough to help worsening drought conditions in central and northeastern Minnesota.
Skies clear across most of Minnesota Thursday with slightly cooler temperatures. However, occasional storms linger in eastern and southern Minnesota, including a continued severe weather risk.
A tornado in Otter Tail County reportedly killed one person damaged 3 farmsteads. It also produced some of the most photogenic tornado video on record.
NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight for a large part of Minnesota. The watch zone includes the northern parts of the Twin Cities metro area.
