November storms in the Great Lakes: From the Edmund Fitzgerald to the latest
Early to mid-November has a history of producing some of the most brutal storms in the Upper Midwest. During this time, lingering warmth clashes with incoming arctic air, creating volatile weather patterns that can shift from calm to catastrophic in a matter of hours.
A cold day Monday with above-normal temperatures for the remainder of the week
It’s another very cold morning early Monday and the day will remain colder than normal. A clipper system brings some showers to northeast Minnesota Monday night. Warmer air returns Tuesday.

Snow showers are wrapping up Saturday evening, but behind the departing system comes a blast of much colder air — the coldest of the season so far. By Sunday morning, wind chills will dip into the single digits.
Chilly weekend ahead with a taste of winter in southwest Minnesota
A fast-moving Alberta clipper is sliding south of the region for Saturday, bringing accumulating snow to extreme southwestern Minnesota. Behind it, cold Canadian air will settle in, keeping highs near freezing and pushing wind chills into the single digits by early Sunday morning.
