Heavy winter precipitation and a slow thaw so far are boosting the chances of major flooding on the St. Croix River. City leaders are making plans now to close riverside parks and start sandbagging.
We’ll feel gradually milder temperatures this week. The Twin Cities hit 40 degrees on Sunday. A string of days in the 40s still looks likely this week in the south with mostly 30s up north.
Monday will see a fair amount of sun with below-normal temperatures. Rain and snow develop late Tuesday into early Wednesday with another system moving across southern Minnesota Wednesday night.
Look for some sun Monday with temperatures back in the 30s and 20s across the state, still somewhat below normal. We have two systems bringing moisture to Minnesota this week. The first arrives late Tuesday with rain and snow showers.
After a bright and breezy Sunday, some weather changes are on tap for the coming week. We have the latest on who will see some snow Tuesday into Wednesday.
Temperatures will rebound nicely Sunday afternoon, but we’ll have gusty winds. Our next good chance of rain or snow arrives Tuesday afternoon and lingers into early Wednesday.
We’ll have very cold temperatures Sunday morning, then temps recover nicely in the afternoon. Even milder temps will arrive this coming week. We’re very close to becoming the seventh-snowiest snow season in Twin Cities weather records.
Saturday and Saturday night temperatures will make it feel more like January than March. We have details on when our temps will rebound, as we look at Sunday and the week ahead.
