Ice anglers rescued in Duluth after Lake Superior ice breaks free
Twenty-six ice anglers were rescued Tuesday morning in Duluth when the Lake Superior ice they were fishing on suddenly broke free and blew away from shore.
Although still 15 to 25 degrees below average highs, Tuesday and Wednesday will be the mildest days of the week, as another drop in the temperatures is on the way starting Thursday.
Although still well below average, Tuesday brings one of the milder days relative to the cold this week, with some parts of central Minnesota making it above zero for the first time since last Thursday.
Temperatures will continue to run much colder than normal this week. A few days will be “less cold” than others. We have details on that, plus the wind chill warnings up north today.
