Every day, thousands of patients come to Mayo Clinic in Rochester seeking medical care, so it’s no place for dangerously icy sidewalks or parking lots. Yet despite last winter being one of the snowiest on record, Mayo reduced its salt use by 60 percent from the previous winter.

Highs in the 40s to start the week; rain or snow for Minn. on Wednesday?

Last Monday the Twin Cities high temperature was 18 degrees. Our temps will be much more comfortable this Monday and you’ll probably like our Tuesday and Wednesday temperatures too. Some spots could see rain or a wintry mix Monday and Monday night. We’ll also take a look at a potential swath of rain and snow Wednesday into early Thursday.

A bit cooler, with drizzle possible; temps rebound a bit Monday and Tuesday

We enjoyed mild temps on Saturday, but our Sunday highs will be a bit cooler. Some locations in Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see some drizzle/flurries and light rain/snow showers at times, especially Sunday morning into early afternoon. There’s a chance of patchy freezing drizzle in northeastern Minnesota. Temperatures rebound a bit on Monday and Tuesday.

Saturday night rain/wintry mix; flake chance early Sunday, with cooler temps

Parts of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see a wintry mix of light rain, drizzle, freezing drizzle and light snow Saturday evening into early Sunday. Sunday highs will be a bit cooler than our Saturday highs. Milder temps will return as we start next week.
