'Unprecedented': MN air quality 'very unhealthy' into next week
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has extended the air quality alert for all of Minnesota through 3 p.m. Tuesday as smoke from Canadian fires persists. Air quality will be “very unhealthy” for much of the state, including the Twin Cities, through the weekend.
Periods of smoke and haze likely through the weekend
Minnesota has another day of poor air quality ahead much of Friday, and the smoke and haze returns for portions of the weekend. Meanwhile, most of the state misses out on rain once again.
Air quality in the Twin Cities peaked in the very unhealthy range Thursday. This is the second week we have set records for the highest particulate.
