Stewart Trail Fire near Two Harbors now 62 percent contained; at least 30 buildings burned
The Minnesota Incident Command Center reported late Sunday that the Stewart Trail wildfire burning north east of Two Harbors along Lake Superior’s North Shore is now 62 percent contained, but officials say there is still concern.
34 buildings damaged by wildfire near Two Harbors; Highway 61 still closed
In an update Saturday evening, Lake County and firefighting officials said the Stewart Trail Fire northeast of Two Harbors had damaged or destroyed 34 structures — eight “primary” structures, such as homes, as well as 26 outbuildings.
