Forest Service to cancel, refund BWCA permits made on faulty site

The Forest Service a malfunctioning reservation system offline Wednesday morning within an hour and a half of its launch. The agency said Friday it will soon announce a new date for people to register for the quota permits.

Lincoln billboard removed in Duluth after outcry over forgotten history

A billboard featuring an image of Abraham Lincoln was intended to portray a positive message. But its placement near a Native American mural created a stir over the president's role in a dark chapter in Minnesota history.

Despite the fact that climate change is making Minnesota winters milder -- in the aggregate -- every year, thousands of Minnesota retirees move to other states, most often warmer, sunnier ones. It's a trend that may have political and other consequences for the state.

There's arsenic and lead in many brands of fruit juice. Should you be concerned?

Testing by Consumer Reports found "concerning levels" of cadmium, arsenic and lead in 21 samples of apple and other juices. But the FDA has yet to issue a guideline on arsenic limits in juice.

Photos: Toughing it out in subzero Minnesota

Minnesotans bundled up, jumped cars and basically just tried to keep moving around the past few days as a polar vortex plunged Minnesota into subzero temperatures. You know, could have been worse.
