It will be a very warm couple of days Tuesday and Wednesday with highs running 10 to as much as 20 degrees above normal. Rain continues to look hopeful for the weekend.
Tuesday will be even warmer than Monday with highs well into the 70s and 80s for most of the state. Some places in far western Minnesota could even hit 90.
A University of Alaska-Fairbanks forecast indicates “highly active” auroras may be visible as far south as the Twin Cities area into early Tuesday morning. NOAA has issued a geomagnetic storm watch.
Clouds will increase some Monday and it will be warmer with highs well into the 70s for most. Southern Minnesota will see 80s Tuesday through Friday with rain possible late week.
Monday will be warmer with increasing high clouds and the chance of an isolated shower in southern Minnesota. Tuesday and Wednesday will bring highs in the 80s south.
Temps will drop into the 40s mostly overnight Sunday night with near 50 degree temps in the Twin Cities. Clouds increase Monday with warmer highs in the 70s to low 80s west.
