More snow and another blast of cold air on the way
The next round of snow Friday into Saturday should bring another 1 to 3 inches for most of the state, with slightly higher amounts possible for northern Minnesota. As for the cold, temperatures will fall Saturday setting us up for a subzero start to Sunday.
Wednesday begins with brutal cold and dangerous wind chills again, but ends milder with a new snowstorm impacting the state.
Greenland ice melting 7 times faster than in 1993
Greenland’s ice sheets melted 33 billion tons of water a year in 1993. In the last decade, the average skyrocketed to 254 billion tons of melt on average. That’s a seven-fold increase.
It only takes a little snow to make roads dangerous with colder temperatures.
Cold weather Tuesday and Wednesday will be followed by warming weather and snow for Thursday.
