A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday for east-central Minnesota, including roughly the northeast half of the Twin Cities metro area. Tennis ball-sized hail has been reported in Sauk Rapids, Minn.

A steamy Friday, with shower and thunderstorm chances for some areas

Hit and miss: More humid, spotty thunderstorm coverage ahead

Thursday’s storm risk looks spotty and iffy to me. We’ll see a few spotty thundershowers. A couple may reach severe limits but the setup is weak compared to last Friday’s derecho scenario.
