Tuesday afternoon will bring temperatures above zero for most of Minnesota, with highs near 10 in southern Minnesota to near zero in the northwest corner. Wednesday will be even warmer with a few light snow showers north.
Wind chills will continue to range from 15 to 35 below zero Tuesday morning. We’ll see another day with sun and warmer afternoon temps with highs near 10 south and zero north.
On top of the cancellations, another 4,700 flights were delayed nationwide on Monday as Texas and nearby states dealt with freezing temperatures and wintry precipitation.
It’s harder to sustain subzero cold in Minnesota as we move through February. Winter is not done with Minnesota yet, but the worst weeks of winter are likely behind us after this week.
Wind chill warnings continue through noon in northwestern Minnesota. Monday will barely warm above zero in southern Minnesota with subzero highs north. Wind chills will remain in the teens and 20s below zero Monday afternoon.
Wind chill advisories and warnings are in effect through most of the morning or day Monday across Minnesota. Wind chills will range from 20 to 40 below zero early Monday. High temperatures will be barely above zero south and subzero north.
