Much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see Tuesday afternoon highs in the 80s, with dew point temperatures over 70. That’s unusually steamy weather for September. Some areas will see showers and thunderstorms at times. Temperatures retreat a bit on Wednesday, with more showers and thunderstorms.
Hot and muggy weather will be slow to leave; storms Tuesday and again Tuesday night
Hot, very muggy weather will be slow to become more comfortable this week. Expect thunderstorms across central Minnesota on Tuesday and then a larger area of stronger storms Tuesday night. More storms likely by about Friday.

Summery weather lingers; more 80s to start the week
It was back to the 80s Sunday afternoon, and the summery high temperatures will linger into Wednesday. Our next shower and thunderstorm chance arrives in parts of Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Tuesday.
After some areas of dense fog Sunday morning in parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin, the afternoon temperatures will rebound nicely. Monday is looking downright summery. We also have details on the weather radar upgrade at the Twin Cities NWS office in Chanhassen.
Saturday was our warmest day in the Twin Cities metro area and much of southern Minnesota since last Tuesday. Sunday will be even warmer. More good news: the upgrade of the National Weather Service radar in Chanhassen is moving along nicely.
Still reeling from Dorian, Bahamas hit by tropical storm
Officials temporarily suspended aid efforts and closed a couple of small airports in the Bahamas on Saturday as Tropical Storm Humberto dumped rain on parts of the archipelago's northwest region that were hammered by Hurricane Dorian two weeks ago.
