Below-normal temperatures this week with several light snow chances
Monday will be cold with more clouds than sun. Light snow develops late Tuesday north. Our first widespread subzero readings arrive early Thursday morning.
Cold start to meteorological winter as temperatures run 15-20 degrees below average
The clipper train rolls in this week, bringing occasional light snow and locking in the cold, with temperatures running 15 to 20 degrees below normal and the season’s first subzero reading possible.
Storm moves out, cold moves in
Light snow and decreasing winds will wrap up our holiday weekend with a few peeks of sunshine possible. Cold air will continue to filter in through the week, bringing the potential for subzero readings by week’s end.
Snow storm wrapping up Saturday night; Arctic air on the way
As the snowstorm wraps up Saturday night, a surge of Arctic air will arrive, bringing some of the coldest temperatures of the season. Highs will struggle to reach the teens and 20s next week, and several clipper systems will keep light snow in the forecast.
Prolonged light snow Saturday; bitter cold follows
A long-duration winter storm is settling in today, bringing hours of steady light snow across the southern half of the state. As the system moves out, expect increasing winds and a drop in temperatures.

Friday will be chilly with a mix of clouds and sun. Snow develops in southwest Minnesota late today and spreads across southern Minnesota tonight into Saturday followed by cold air. 
Next snow event Friday night through Saturday from MSP southward
A long-duration fluffy snowfall event will drop snow Friday night through Saturday across southern Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and the Chicago area.
