Early taste of spring: Highs surge toward 60
Our main story this week is the steady climb in temperatures and the growing potential for the first 60-degree reading of the year.
Decreasing clouds, mild Tuesday and through the week
Morning clouds will move out, and it’ll be another mild day Tuesday. Wednesday will see even warmer readings — in the 50s for many. A storm system will likely bring rain Friday.
Total lunar eclipse Tuesday morning; spring preview this week
A total lunar eclipse happens Tuesday morning. Fewer clouds in northern Minnesota may make for better viewing than in the south. Get ready for a mild week ahead.
Mild air returns Monday and sticks around this week
Warmer air is back Monday and it’ll stick around through the week and next weekend. Some showers are possible south Monday night and we’re watching a bigger system for Friday.
Warming trend builds this week; rain likely late week
The seasons are shifting, and this week will offer a true sign of spring. Highs are expected to reach the 50s by Tuesday, with increasing chances of rain by Friday.
Snow winds down; below-normal temperatures hold through weekend
Lingering light snow will persist through Saturday evening, then diminish from west to east as the storm system pulls away. Cooler conditions will continue Sunday before temperatures begin a warming trend Monday.
Heavier snow targets southeastern Minnesota as advisories continue
A strengthening band of snow early Saturday is expected to bring the heaviest accumulations to southern Minnesota, with lighter totals farther north.
