Today's Morning Edition music is from Chubby Checker with "The Twist." The song hit No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart on January 13, 1962, 55 years ago today. That was actually its second time hitting that no. 1 spot. The first time was two years earlier in 1960. It's the only record in American history to top the charts on two separate occasions.
Ol' Yeller is the project of Rich Mattson. He's an Iron Range native and has played in a handful of bands over the years. About 10 years ago, he opened his own recording studio in an old church in Sparta.
