President Joe Biden will host George Floyd’s family at the White House Tuesday to mark the first anniversary of his death at the hands of a white Minneapolis police officer. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Friday the president would mark the anniversary of Floyd’s death, but offered no further details on his plans.

A former St. Paul police officer faces sentencing in federal court Friday morning 18 months after a jury convicted him of using excessive force during an arrest. Nearly five years ago officers apparently mistook Frank Baker for a suspect and turned a K9 on him. As the dog mauled Baker's leg, Officer Brett Palkowitch kicked Baker repeatedly.
