Fifth bishop of Diocese of New Ulm announced
Pope Francis named Bishop Chad W. Zielinski, 57, the fifth bishop of the Diocese of New Ulm on Tuesday. He said “spiritual apathy” and declining numbers of parish membership are challenges faces the church.

James Clayton Wolf was charged July 7 in federal court with felony wire fraud. Prosecutors say Wolf falsely labeled crops grown on his rural Cottonwood County farm as organic and that he defrauded grain buyers and undermined the nation’s organic labeling system.
Julie Bowlin, 55, of Chanhassen, has agreed to pay $50,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by Nathan McGuire and has signed documents admitting she made numerous false accusations which led to his dismissal as Woodbury High School girls basketball coach in 2014.

A Ramsey County judge on Monday ruled that many of the state’s existing restrictions on abortion violate Minnesota’s constitution.
