An 'above average' election night for Minnesota Democrats
Democrats swept statewide races, knocked off two members of Congress in the suburbs and took back the state House -- but not everyone was willing to call it a wave year.

The two candidates in Minnesota's special election for U.S. senator -- DFL incumbent Tina Smith and her Republican challenger, state Sen. Karin Housley -- laid out their cases to voters Sunday night in the campaign's final debate.
It's the latest record based on the kid-friendly duo's outdoor adventures. They've also canoed down the Mississippi River, hiked along the Appalachian Trail, and gone horseback riding on the Continental Divide.
