The song was first recorded by actor Richard Harris in 1968. A few years later, producer Pete Bellotte had the idea to make a disco version of a hit song from the 60s. When he heard Harris' version of "MacArthur Park," he knew it would be perfect for Donna Summer's big voice.

Elvis Costello performs tonight at the Northrop Auditorium at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. His new album, "Look Now," includes a song written with the legendary songwriter Carole King. Another interesting collaboration has a local twist: Los Angeles-based R&B singer Jerry "Swamp Dogg" Williams's new record was produced by Justin Vernon and Polica's Ryan Olson. Williams plays tonight at the Turf Club in St. Paul.
'Toxic' is Oxford Dictionaries' word of 2018
The publisher's research found "the sheer scope of its application" made "toxic" stand out this year.
