First-generation college graduates navigate mountain of student loan debt

A growing legion of people in Minnesota and across the nation are hoping President Joe Biden will take steps to ease what’s become a massive student debt problem. Supporters say that debt, more than $1.6 trillion currently, is holding back the American economy, keeping people from buying homes, getting married and otherwise taking their next steps in life — and affecting Black and brown borrowers in unequal ways.

Charges against alleged health clinic shooter detail terror at the scene

Gregory Ulrich walked into Allina Health “knowing that he was going to shoot up that clinic … knowing that he was going to explode bombs at the clinic,” Wright County Attorney Brian Lutes told reporters after the charges were filed.

Prosecutor: Alleged Health clinic shooter to face murder, explosives charges

Wright County Attorney Brian Lutes vowed to "aggressively prosecute” Gregory Paul Ulrich. Lindsay Overbay, a 37-year-old medical assistant, was killed in the clinic shooting. She was a mother of two children ages 5 and 8.

Buffalo police said the man who allegedly opened fire in an Allina Health clinic is “very familiar” to them, but there’s no evidence this was domestic terrorism. He’s expected to face a judge on Thursday.
